Cookie Rocks works with Elementor. It is tested automatically with the latest version of Elementor from WordPress.org: the Compatibility table of the Developers page marks it Tested automatically with its latest version.
Set it up in 3 steps
- Open your cookie policy page with Elementor. Add a widget that accepts a shortcode, such as the Shortcode widget, and type
[cookie_rocks_policy]. Cookie Rocks writes the policy there. - Open Cookie Rocks, Consent. Choose this page as Cookie policy page, then click Save Changes.
- After adding videos or maps, click Scan my pages on the Cookies page.
If YouTube or Vimeo shows “Loads before any choice”. A video of your Elementor pages starts before the visitor chooses. Your current banner does not hold it. Set your banner to hold it, or add Cookie Rocks Pro.
What the Audit checks
- The Elementor Video widget leaves no video frame in the page: its own script loads the video later. The scan reads the widget’s settings, so a YouTube or Vimeo video placed with it is found like an ordinary embed.
- The scan includes up to 10 pages whose content, or whose Elementor data, holds a video, a frame or a script. That is where outside trackers hide most often.
- The Cookies page then lists YouTube or Vimeo with what it does before the visitor chooses: Waits for a choice or Loads before any choice.
With Cookie Rocks Pro
Limits
A video or a map that a script creates after the page has loaded, from an address that is not in the page, cannot be seen by the scan. Check such content by hand.
