These terms apply when you start a trial, buy a Cookie Rocks key or ask for a free Community key on cookierocks.com. Paid keys are for businesses; non-commercial sites get a free Community key. These terms are written to be read: if something is unclear, ask us before you buy.

1. Who sells
Cookie Rocks is sold by Djase Amcou LC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, United States (Secretary of State filing ID 2025-001705225), 1021 E Lincolnway #8431, Cheyenne, WY 82001, United States. E-mail: info@djaseamcou.com. In these terms, “we” means Djase Amcou LC and “you” means the business that buys, or the person who asks for a trial or a free key.
2. What you buy
Cookie Rocks Audit is free and is not sold: it is distributed free of charge, under the GPL. What we sell is a key for Cookie Rocks, the complete consent plugin. A key gives, for its period:
- the use of the complete plugin on the sites the key covers (see the licence and key terms);
- updates, including the ones that follow changes in the law;
- support by request from your account;
- the features served by our servers, such as the updated list of known cookies.
The code of the plugin is free software under the GPL. The key does not limit what the GPL allows you to do with the code.
Credit in your cookie policy. The cookie policy written by Cookie Rocks Pro ends with a short sentence saying that it is written by Cookie Rocks, with a link to cookierocks.com. You can remove it at any time with the “Support Cookie Rocks” setting. With a free Community key, the sentence stays: it is the counterpart of the free key. Cookie Rocks Audit, the free plugin, shows it only if you turn it on.
3. Who can buy
- Keys are sold to businesses only: companies, agencies, self-employed people, associations and public bodies that have a VAT number or a business registration number. You enter it at checkout, and it goes on the invoice. By buying, you confirm that you buy for a business and not as a consumer.
- A non-commercial site, run by a person or a group, gets a free Community key (section 5). Everyone can use the free trial.
- Cookie Rocks is not currently offered to customers established in China or Turkey. We may refund an order and cancel its licence key if the customer is established there.
4. Prices and taxes
- Prices are shown on the pricing page in US dollars and euros, without tax. You pay in the currency you choose, US dollars or euros, at the price shown; your bank may convert it.
- Business customers in the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland give their VAT number: no VAT is charged and the invoice says that the VAT is reverse-charged, to be declared by you. Other taxes, such as GST or sales tax, are added only where we are registered to collect them, and shown before you pay.
- Keys are priced per key and per year. The price per key depends on the total number of keys on the subscription, following the tiers on the pricing page, and applies to all of them.
- We may change prices for future periods. We tell you by e-mail at least 30 days before a change applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it does.
5. The free trial, and free Community keys for non-commercial sites
- The trial lasts 30 days, includes every feature and support, needs no payment card, and is open to everyone.
- One trial per website (registered domain) and per e-mail address.
- At the end of the trial nothing is charged. The plugin then works as described in section 9.
- A personal or non-commercial site (a personal page, an art project, a band, a student club, a youth movement, a sports club, a small publisher of free software given away for free, with no paid edition, an association without a shop, paid services, advertising or affiliate links; not an SEO blog, a site of AI-generated content or a link farm) can ask for a free Community key on the pricing page. We review each request by hand and may decline it without giving a reason. A Community key lasts one year, works on one domain or subdomain exactly (unlike a paid key, with no extra subdomain and no staging site), and is limited to one per person, asked with a personal e-mail address. In the last 14 days of the key, the holder can renew it for free from the account, in one click, by stating that the site is still non-commercial. We may switch off a Community key without notice if the site lives on advertising, carries affiliate links, sells products or services, or becomes commercial in any other way. A Community key comes with no payment and no refund; the rest of these terms applies to it. The Community key requires the credit sentence at the end of the cookie policy written by Cookie Rocks.
6. Ordering and paying
- You order on our checkout page. Payment is processed by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
- From the first key, you can also ask for an invoice from the pay by invoice page. The invoice is due within 14 days and can be paid by bank transfer or by card. Keys are sent when it is paid.
- The contract is formed when the payment is confirmed. You receive your keys and a receipt by e-mail, and you find them in your account with your invoices.
7. Subscription, renewal and cancellation
- Keys are sold for one year and renew automatically each year at the price then in force, until you cancel.
- We send a reminder by e-mail 7 days before each renewal, with the amount.
- You can cancel at any time from your account (“Stop renewal”). The key stays valid until the end of the period already paid; no further payment is taken.
- If a renewal payment fails, we tell you and the payment provider tries again for a few days. Your key stays valid until the end of the period already paid.
- You can add or remove keys from your account, from one key to as many as you need. Added keys are charged for the rest of the current period; the details are shown before you confirm.
8. Refunds
Keys are sold to businesses, so the consumer right of withdrawal does not apply. We still offer a money-back guarantee to every customer, explained on the refunds page.
9. When a trial or a key ends
A trial or a key ends at the end of its end date, shown in your account. There is no grace period: the next day, the following applies.
- The banner, your visitors’ choices, the blocking of trackers until consent and the register of proofs keep working.
- The settings lock, except three actions: switching the banner off, changing the privacy or cookie policy page, and asking all visitors again.
- Updates (including the ones that follow the law) and support stop, and newly found cookies cannot be classified.
- Nothing about Cookie Rocks appears in your banner, before or after the end of your key.
- Cookie Rocks Audit, the free plugin, keeps receiving updates. If a new version needs a newer Cookie Rocks than the one on your site, the Updates screen of WordPress says so and we tell you by e-mail: take a key first, or keep the Audit you have.
- A month after the end, if your site still uses Cookie Rocks, we send one reminder by e-mail, and only one.
10. Support
Support comes with an active key or trial. Open a request from your account: we answer within two working days, in any language (English is the quickest). Support covers the installation, the settings and the behaviour of Cookie Rocks. It is not legal advice.
With a Cookie Rocks Pro key (paid, trial or Community), support also includes checks of your live site. Three days after a key is activated on a domain, to leave you time to set everything up, and then from time to time, we visit a few public pages of that domain, as an ordinary visitor would: without signing in, without any access to your site, following your robots.txt. We check that no cookie is set before the visitor’s choice. We keep only the names of the cookies set before the choice and the addresses of the sites that set them, never their values and nothing about your visitors. We may also count the cookies seen during these visits, without naming any site, in the figures published on cookierocks.com. We then write to you, in your support history and by e-mail: if Cookie Rocks did not know a cookie, an update follows as soon as possible to hold it; if a cookie it knows still slips through, we tell you which setting to check. You can turn these visits off at any time, in your account on cookierocks.com, or by writing to support@cookierocks.com. The free Cookie Rocks Audit is never concerned.
11. Your responsibility for your site
Cookie Rocks helps you meet the consent rules: it explains them in plain words, checks your settings and blocks known trackers until consent. Our information covers many countries and states. It is written from official texts, with the date it was checked, but it is not reviewed by a lawyer for each jurisdiction, and it may be incomplete or out of date. Cookie Rocks does not make your site compliant by itself: what your business does with data outside the visitor’s browser (server-side tracking, contracts with partners, the content of your privacy policy) stays outside what a cookie banner can do. Some protections are optional settings that you choose to turn on. You remain responsible for your site, for the tools you install and for the choices you make in the settings. The information on the laws is general information, not legal advice; for your own case, ask a lawyer or your data protection authority.
12. Fair use
A key may not be resold, shared publicly or used to get around the domain limits. We may suspend a key that is clearly abused or whose payment was reversed, after telling you by e-mail when it is possible. The code itself stays yours to use under the GPL.
13. Liability
- Cookie Rocks Audit, the free plugin, is provided as it is, free of charge, without any warranty beyond what the law requires.
- We do our best to keep Cookie Rocks accurate, up to date and available, but no software is free of errors, and laws and their reading by authorities change.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability for a key is limited to the amount you paid for it in the last 12 months, and we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit or fines imposed on you, including fines for practices that Cookie Rocks warned you about or did not detect.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or the mandatory rights of consumers in their country.
- If you rely on our country information for an important decision, check the official text linked on the page, or ask a lawyer.
14. Personal data
We process your data as explained in our privacy policy.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to a purchase is the one in force when you paid. For renewals, we tell you about important changes by e-mail at least 30 days in advance.
16. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States. Keys are sold to businesses; the courts of Laramie County, Wyoming have jurisdiction. If you buy as a consumer, the mandatory rules of your country apply in addition to these terms, and nothing in them limits those rules. If a mandatory rule of your country protects you anyway, you keep it. Before any dispute, write to us: most problems are solved by a simple message.
