The law, in plain words

Cookie consent without a law degree

you build websites, not legal opinions

← Features

Four words about your site. Cookie Rocks reads the law of your countries and tells you, in a few plain lines, what it asks. Then it does most of the work itself.

Four words about your site.

Legal texts, translated for humans

same thing, we promise

Directive 2002/58/EC, article 5(3)

“Member States shall ensure that the storing of information, or the gaining of access to information already stored, in the terminal equipment of a subscriber or user is only allowed on condition that the subscriber or user concerned has given his or her consent, having been provided with clear and comprehensive information, in accordance with Directive 95/46/EC, inter alia, about the purposes of the processing.”

In plain words

Ask first, say why, and wait.

Before your site stores or reads anything on a visitor’s device, ask first, say why, and wait for consent. Unless it is strictly needed for what the visitor asked for.

In practice: Google Analytics waits for consent. The shopping cart cookie does not: the visitor asked for a cart.

The same, for each of your 248 jurisdictions, with the official text one click away.

Multilingual, for real

Your privacy policy, checked point by point. In every language.

even the Dutch one

Cookie Rocks reads your privacy policy and each of its translations with WPML or Polylang, and lists what is there and what is missing. For each missing point it gives you a text to copy, in the language of the page.

  • Points recognised in English, French, Dutch, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Czech, Danish, Polish, Romanian, Swedish, Hungarian, Finnish, Greek, Bulgarian, Estonian, Croatian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Slovak, Slovenian, Irish, Maltese, Norwegian Bokmål, Icelandic, Arabic, Catalan, Turkish, Japanese, Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese, Korean, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Hindi, Serbian, Macedonian, Albanian, Georgian, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Mongolian, Malay, Bangla and Nepali
  • Languages without a translation of the page are pointed out
  • Your cookie policy is generated in the language of each page

A help to check your page, not a verdict: the final word belongs to you and your lawyer.

Cookie consent without the headache

On small projects, it is often the developer who ends up playing lawyer. Cookie Rocks gives you the right information for every country your visitors come from, does the hard part on its own, and tells you plainly when something needs you.

Plain words, not legalese

Every setting says what it does and why. The law of each of your countries fits in a few lines, with the official text one click away.

A health check that fixes things

The dashboard lists what is not perfectly set up and fixes most of it in one click. It also shows in WordPress Site Health.

Placeholders, not holes

Videos, maps, music, social media posts and forms (YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps, Spotify, Instagram, X, TikTok, Typeform…) show a placeholder with a load button, in place, without breaking your layout.

Forms keep working

Forms protected by reCAPTCHA or hCaptcha ask before sending, and nothing the visitor typed is lost.

Delayed scripts still held

Scripts delayed by WP Rocket, Perfmatters or LiteSpeed Cache still wait for consent. Speed plugins and Cookie Rocks work together.

Tag Manager, read for you

Cookie Rocks reads your public Google Tag Manager container every day, lists the tools it loads, adds them to your cookie policy and tells you which tags to make wait. No Google account needed.

Answers, in figures
