Use your Cookie Rocks account

← I want to…

Written for Cookie Rocks 2.10.0, checked on 5 November 2026. The current version is 2.11.2: some details may have changed.

This guide is for owners of a Cookie Rocks Pro key, a trial or a Community key. Your account on cookierocks.com holds your keys, your sites, your invoices and your support requests.

You need: the e-mail address you used to buy, to start your trial or to ask for a Community key. The free Cookie Rocks Audit needs no account.

  1. Open your account.
  2. Type your e-mail address and click Send me a sign-in link. There is no password.
  3. Open the e-mail from Cookie Rocks and click its link. It works once, for 15 minutes.

Tip. Once signed in, click Link a Google account at the top of your account. Next time, Continue with Google signs you in with one click. Unlink Google removes the link.

Install Cookie Rocks Pro

  1. Under Install Cookie Rocks Pro, check the version shown, then click Download Cookie Rocks Pro. The link works for one hour: reload the page for a new one.
  2. Under Keys, click Copy next to your key.
  3. Install the free Cookie Rocks Audit first, if it is not on your site yet. Then install the zip file in WordPress (Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin), open Cookie Rocks, Licence, paste the key and click Activate. The Adding Cookie Rocks Pro page shows each step.

Read your keys

Each key has a card, with the key and a Copy button. It says whether the key is Active, Expired or Revoked, and until when it runs: the days left for a trial, a Community key or a key in its last 30 days, otherwise Renews or ends on and the date. Under Sites, it lists the sites where the key is active. A key not used yet says so: open Cookie Rocks in WordPress, paste the key and click Activate. Agency keys come as one short line each: click it to open the card.

  • Free this place removes the key from a site, for example a site you closed. You can then activate it on another site. See Move a key to another site.
  • A site marked local (localhost, an address ending in .local or .test, an IP address) never uses up your key. A site marked staging, at a known staging host, does not either: a paid key or a trial has 2 such places. A Community key has none. Both badges show the date of activation and of the last check.
  • An agency key locks to the first client site that activates it. Assign a domain sets it in advance; Change the domain moves it, 3 times a year at most.
  • A Community key stays on its one site. From 14 days before its end, its card asks whether the site is still non-commercial, and offers Yes, renew my Community key for a year. One click renews it at once: nothing to do on your site, and an e-mail confirms the new end date.

Visits of your sites

With Cookie Rocks Pro, we come and look at your site. Three days after you activate your key, then now and then, we visit it like an ordinary visitor: no account, no access to your site. We check that every cookie waits for consent. If one slips through, we write to you in your support history. A cookie we did not know yet is held by a later update of the plugin. A cookie we know, set too early, almost always comes from a setting: the message says what to check.

The card of the key says Visits of your sites: on or off. Rather not? Click Turn the visits off. Turn the visits on brings them back. Local and staging sites are never visited.

Your subscription and invoices

A paid key renews every year unless you stop it. The card of the subscription shows Paid until and the number of keys. Each button opens the secure billing page. Update card and Invoices and billing details sit at the top of your account:

  • Add or remove keys: added keys are charged at once for the rest of the current year, and arrive once that invoice is paid. The amount is shown before you confirm. When you remove keys, the ones used on no site go first.
  • Stop renewal: your keys run until the end of the paid year, then end.
  • Update card, and Invoices and billing details for your invoices, your address and your VAT number.

The Invoices table lists each invoice with its state: Paid, Due followed by the date (or To pay) with a Pay button, Unpaid or Cancelled. To pay by bank transfer, see Pay by invoice.

Ask for help

Support comes with an active key or trial. At the bottom of your account, under Support, open Ask a question:

  1. Give a Subject, choose the Key (or Not about a specific key) and the Site concerned. Write in any language.
  2. In Your message, say what you expected and what happened. Your WordPress and Cookie Rocks versions help.
  3. Click Send my request. A copy comes by e-mail. We answer within two working days, usually sooner, here and by e-mail.

Each request shows its state: Waiting for us, Answered or Closed. To add something, write under the request, in Add a message. A closed request opens again when you write under it.

When a key ends

A key ends at the end of its end date. The next day, its card says Ended on, followed by the date. The banner, your visitors’ choices and the blocking of trackers keep working. The settings and the updates are locked until you get a new key. The card offers a key to buy. A Community key can still be renewed in one click for 90 days after its end; later, its card offers Ask for a new Community key.

If you see… too many reminders before the end of a trial or a key: click Turn off reminder e-mails at the top of your account. You still get your keys, payment e-mails, sign-in links and the notice before a renewal.

Next step: Move a key to another site, renew it, or remove it
