Cookie Rocks comes in two plugins. You start with the free one.
- Cookie Rocks Audit is free. It checks your site and the cookie banner you already have. It tells you, in plain words, what is in order and what to fix.
- Cookie Rocks Pro is paid, with a free trial of 30 days. It adds the Cookie Rocks banner and fixes what the Audit points out.
You do not need to write code. This guide takes you from installation to a site that asks its visitors properly.

Three steps
Install the Audit
Download the free plugin and activate it. It takes about 5 minutes, and your visitors see no change. Install the Audit
Tell Cookie Rocks about your site
Answer four questions, scan your pages and choose your policy pages. Cookie Rocks then knows your laws and your cookies. Your first audit
Read the Overview and fix what it shows
The Overview lists the points to fix, each with a button. If your current banner cannot fix them, add Cookie Rocks Pro. Read the Overview
What the Audit checks
- Your cookie banner. It reads the buttons of your banner on your home page. For many cookie plugins, it also reads their settings on your site. The Cookie plugins page lists the 44 plugins it recognises.
- What loads before any choice. A scan opens up to 30 of your pages, like a visitor. It names the tools it finds among the 675 whose cookies it knows.
- The laws of your countries. It lists what the law asks of your site, point by point. The Laws covered page shows the 248 jurisdictions it knows.
- Google, your policies and the weight of your banner. Each has its own page in the Cookie Rocks menu.
Tip. Keep the cookie plugin you already use. The Audit works next to it and adds nothing to your visitors’ pages. The only thing they can see from it is the cookie policy, on the page where you place its shortcode.
The Audit shows no banner and blocks nothing. If your banner lets a tracker through before the visitor chooses, the Audit names it. It cannot hold it back.
