Cookie consent for page builders and block add-ons

videos and maps wait

← Cookie Rocks for your stack

Page builders and their add-ons add videos, maps and forms to your pages. Some of them build players with a script, so YouTube or Google loads before any choice. Cookie Rocks holds the ones listed below until the visitor agrees.

Builder by builder

Beaver Builder
A YouTube background on a row loads YouTube on every visit. Cookie Rocks holds it until consent.
Essential Addons for Elementor
The Sticky Video widget loads YouTube with a script. Cookie Rocks turns it into a held video. Other widgets load reCAPTCHA or Typeform.
Spectra
reCAPTCHA in the Form block and the Google Maps block, both held by Cookie Rocks until consent.

What matters for consent with Builders and add-ons

Players built by a script

A video player built by a script has no iframe in the page to hold. Cookie Rocks holds these players too: nothing from YouTube loads before the choice.

Forms and maps

reCAPTCHA in a form and Google Maps in a block both contact Google. They wait for the visitor’s choice like any other embed.

Google Fonts

Builders load chosen Google fonts from Google’s servers unless their local fonts option is on. See Fonts.

No consent signal from builders

None of these builders sends a consent signal of its own. Your consent plugin handles the choice for the whole site.

What our tests found on Builders and add-ons

  • Set before the choice · Cookie RocksWordPress video players wait for consent

Since Cookie Rocks 2.11.1, the YouTube header video of WordPress, the [video] shortcode with YouTube or Vimeo, the video widget with YouTube, and the Beaver Builder Video module in lightbox mode send nothing before the choice or after Reject all. After Accept the video starts without a reload.

Essential Addons for Elementor can store 6 cookies or browser keys for visitors: eael-cat-tab, productIds, eael-is-login-form, eael_login_error_*, eael_lr_otp_token_*, eael_register_errors_*. Cookie Rocks recognises them from 2.9.8 and lists them in the cookie policy, each with its category and purpose, when it sees them.

  • Good to know · Cookie RocksThe audit names the local fonts setting of your theme

When the home page loads Google Fonts, the Cookie Rocks 2.9.5 audit names the setting of the active theme or plugin that serves them from the site: Elementor, WP Rocket, Spectra, Kadence Blocks, OMGF, Local Google Fonts, Astra, Kadence, OceanWP or Neve. Otherwise it suggests a plugin such as OMGF. Divi, Bricks, Oxygen and Beaver Builder have no such setting. With Cookie Rocks Pro, it points to « Serve Google Fonts from this site » instead.

  • Set before the choice · Beaver Builder (Lite)Beaver Builder YouTube background videos set cookies on the first page

Background videos load the YouTube or Vimeo player script on every visit. Without a banner that handles it, YouTube sets five cookies. Cookie Rocks holds the YouTube background.

Seen in our tests, 16 October 2026, Beaver Builder (Lite) 2.11.0.6.

    Full detail

A YouTube or Vimeo background video on a Beaver Builder row enqueues www.youtube.com/iframe_api (handle youtube-player) or player.vimeo.com/api/player.js (vimeo-player) as ordinary script tags on every visit, then builds the player in JavaScript. Without a banner that handles it, YouTube sets YSC, VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, VISITOR_PRIVACY_METADATA, __Secure-YNID and __Secure-ROLLOUT_TOKEN on the first page. Cookie Rocks holds the YouTube background: in our test, nothing from YouTube loaded and no cookie was set before the choice.

  • Good to know · Beaver Builder (Lite)Beaver Builder's video lightbox keeps the video frame in the page

In embed mode the Video module writes WordPress's standard video frame. In lightbox mode the frame is still in the page, only hidden, and opens when the preview image is clicked.

Read in its code, 16 October 2026, Beaver Builder (Lite) 2.11.0.6.

    Full detail

Beaver Builder's Video module in embed mode writes WordPress's standard oEmbed iframe into the page. In lightbox mode the iframe is still in the HTML, only hidden (mfp-hide), and Magnific Popup opens it when the preview image chosen by the author is clicked.

  • Good to know · Beaver Builder (Lite)Beaver Builder Lite sets no cookie but loads Google Fonts from Google

It has no consent signals and no storage on visitor pages. A Google font loads from fonts.googleapis.com; fonts from the WordPress font library are served locally.

Read in its code, 16 October 2026, Beaver Builder (Lite) 2.11.0.6.

    Full detail

Beaver Builder Lite sets no cookie and uses no browser storage on visitor pages; its localStorage keys exist only in the page editor. It has no WP Consent API or Consent Mode code and does not move iframe src to data-src. When a module or the global style uses a Google font, it loads fonts.googleapis.com, and it merges the theme's Google Fonts stylesheets into one new handle (fl-builder-google-fonts-<md5>). Fonts from the WordPress font library are served locally.

  • Good to know · Essential Addons for ElementorEssential Addons sets cookies only after a login or registration form
    • Login | Register without AJAX: eael_login_error_<id>, eael_register_errors_<id>, eael_lr_otp_token_<id>.
    • A cached login page that ignores these cookies may show another visitor's step.
    • Evergreen Countdown: eael_countdown_evergreen_time_<id> and _interval_<id> in localStorage.
    • Self-hosted Sticky Videos: plyr in localStorage.

Read in its code, 16 October 2026, Essential Addons for Elementor 6.8.6.

    Full detail

Essential Addons sets cookies only after a Login | Register form is sent without AJAX: eael_login_error_<id> and eael_register_errors_<id> (session, deleted once shown) and eael_lr_otp_token_<id> (minutes, for a one-time code step); the widget reads them in PHP, so a cached login page that ignores them may show another visitor's step. Its evergreen Countdown keeps eael_countdown_evergreen_time_<id> and _interval_<id> in localStorage, and Plyr keeps 'plyr' in localStorage for self-hosted Sticky Videos.

  • Set before the choice · Essential Addons for ElementorCookie Rocks holds the Essential Addons Sticky Video until consent

Without a banner that handles it, YouTube loads before the choice and sets cookies. Since 2.5.0 Cookie Rocks holds it, then loads it from youtube-nocookie.com without a reload. It is not sticky while held.

Seen in our tests, 16 October 2026, Essential Addons for Elementor 6.8.6.

    Full detail

The Sticky Video widget of Essential Addons writes YouTube and Vimeo as a <div data-plyr-provider> with no iframe; its bundled Plyr 3.7.8 builds the player in JavaScript on page load. Without a banner that handles it, www.youtube.com/iframe_api and www.youtube.com/embed load before the choice and YouTube sets YSC, VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, VISITOR_PRIVACY_METADATA, __Secure-YNID and __Secure-ROLLOUT_TOKEN. Since 2.5.0 Cookie Rocks replaces the Plyr element with an ordinary held iframe: after Accept all the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com without a reload. The sticky behaviour does not work while YouTube is held.

  • Set before the choice · SpectraCookie Rocks 2.5.0 holds reCAPTCHA in Spectra forms until consent

Spectra's script creates the reCAPTCHA tag, so it is not in the HTML; with 2.4.0 it loaded before any choice. 2.5.0 shows the request in the form and starts it after consent without a reload.

Seen in our tests, 16 October 2026, Spectra 2.20.5.

    Full detail

With reCAPTCHA enabled in Spectra's Form block, Spectra's script creates the www.google.com/recaptcha/api.js tag in the head on page load, so it is not in the HTML. In our test with Cookie Rocks 2.4.0, api.js, its gstatic file and the anchor frame loaded before any choice. Cookie Rocks 2.5.0 holds Spectra's script as reCAPTCHA when a form enables it, shows the request inside the form, and starts reCAPTCHA after consent without a reload.

  • Set before the choice · SpectraCookie Rocks 2.5.0 holds Spectra's Google Maps block until consent

The block uses an embed element, not an iframe, so with 2.4.0 Google Maps loaded before any choice. 2.5.0 turns it into an ordinary iframe, held with its message.

Seen in our tests, 16 October 2026, Spectra 2.20.5.

Spectra's Google Maps block writes an <embed src="https://maps.google.com/maps?...&output=embed"> element, not an iframe. In our test with Cookie Rocks 2.4.0, maps.google.com, maps.gstatic.com and maps.googleapis.com loaded before any choice. Cookie Rocks 2.5.0 turns an embed whose address matches a known embedded content into an ordinary iframe, held with its message.
