Cookie consent for Widgets for Google Reviews

reviews need their loader

← Cookie Rocks for your stack

Widgets for Google Reviews writes your reviews into the page, then waits for a script from Trustindex to show them. Stars, logos and reviewer photos load before the choice anyway. The plugin also removes consent markers that some consent tools add to scripts.

What Widgets for Google Reviews adds to your visitors’ browser

No trackers In our test of Widgets for Google Reviews 14.3 on 7 November 2026, the plugin itself added no tracker and no cookie. What you place in your pages with it, such as a video or a map, still counts.

What matters for consent with Widgets for Google Reviews

No loader, no reviews

The widget stays hidden until the Trustindex loader formats it. If that script waits for consent, visitors see no reviews until they accept.

Images before the choice

Star icons, platform logos and reviewer photos are plain images, kept out of lazy loading. They load before any choice even when the loader waits. Widgets with an ID also add a stylesheet from Trustindex.

It removes consent markers

The plugin strips the consent attributes that consent tools add through WordPress’s script filter, and keeps its loader out of the delay features of some performance plugins. A script tag kept in the page with its type changed is not bypassed.

No consent setting

The plugin has no consent option and does not use WP Consent API. Cookie Rocks holds known trackers until the visitor agrees.
