What matters for consent with Smart Slider 3
Fonts from Google
By default the slider fonts come from Google’s servers with every page. Turn on “Save fonts locally” and they are copied to your site. See fonts for why this matters.
Video layers are not in the HTML
A YouTube layer is an empty block plus an address hidden in the slider’s data. After the page loads, the slider’s own script adds YouTube’s player code. With autoplay, without a cover image, or on phones and tablets, the player starts at once. A Vimeo layer adds Vimeo’s player script on every page load, even with a cover.
Privacy mode is not consent
The “privacy enhanced mode” option switches the YouTube player to youtube-nocookie.com and asks Vimeo not to track. YouTube’s player code still comes from its main domain, and cover images still load from YouTube and Vimeo.
Delay tools skip it
Smart Slider 3 excludes its own scripts from the delay feature of WP Rocket, so its videos never wait for a first scroll or click.

Smart Slider 3 loads layer fonts with a stylesheet link to fonts.googleapis.com by default; Save fonts locally (off by default) copies the CSS and font files to the site. Its Maintain session option keeps the last slide in localStorage under ss-<slider id>, not in a cookie, and its nextendsession cookie is set in the admin only. It excludes its own scripts from WP Rocket's Delay JavaScript, so its videos never wait for a visitor gesture.

A Smart Slider 3 YouTube layer is not an iframe in the page: the server writes an empty div and the video address only in escaped JSON inside an inline new _N2.FrontendItemYouTube(...) call. After the page load event, the plugin's own script adds www.youtube.com/iframe_api and builds the player at once when autoplay is on, when the layer has no cover image, or on phones and tablets; otherwise on a click on the cover. Nothing runs when the user agent contains Chrome-Lighthouse.

Which Smart Slider 3 setting should I change?
“Save fonts locally”: on. The fonts then come from your site. For video layers, a cover image and no autoplay keep the player from starting before a click, but the provider’s scripts and images can still load.
Does the slider set cookies?
Not on visitor pages. Its “Maintain session” option keeps the last slide in the browser’s local storage, on your site. Cookie Rocks holds known trackers until the visitor agrees.
