What matters for consent with MultilingualPress

One choice per site

Each language site keeps its own consent cookie. A visitor who moves to another language is asked again, even when the language sites are folders of one domain.

Settings per site

Each language site has its own Cookie Rocks settings, so each one can have its own texts and its own list of trackers.

The banner in the site’s language

The banner follows the WordPress language of each site, so visitors read it in the language of the site they are on.

    Full detail

MultilingualPress gives each language its own site in a WordPress network. Cookie Rocks keeps one consent cookie per network site (cr_consent on the main site, cr_consent_<id> on the others) and one set of settings per site, so a visitor who switches language sees the banner again, even when the language sites are subfolders of one domain. The banner language follows each site's WordPress locale.

How we test it

From its documentation

It is sold by its publisher only and has not run in our tests yet. Cookie Rocks follows its official documentation. If you use it, the free Audit shows how your own site behaves.

Questions

Why does the banner come back when a visitor changes language?

Each language is a separate site in the network, with its own consent cookie. The choice made on one site does not carry over to the others.

What happens after the 30-day trial?

The banner, your visitors’ choices and your proofs of consent keep working. Without a key, most settings lock, updates and support stop. Take a key at any time and everything opens again.
