What Mailchimp for WooCommerce adds to your visitors’ browser

No trackers In our test of Mailchimp for WooCommerce 6.3 on 7 November 2026, the plugin itself added no tracker and no cookie. What you place in your pages with it, such as a video or a map, still counts.

What matters for consent with Mailchimp for WooCommerce

The site script

Mailchimp’s script loads on every page by default, and a logged-in customer’s e-mail is written into the page for it. It is marketing and should wait for consent. Cookie Rocks holds known trackers until consent.

Cookies from the server

Cart recovery and campaign cookies are set by PHP with the page. No banner can hold them. A developer filter in the plugin decides whether they are allowed.

Cart tracking

With cart tracking on, the default, the e-mail typed at checkout, login or registration is kept in a cookie and sent to your server at once, then cart data goes to Mailchimp. The visitor has not ordered yet.

Questions

Can I turn the site script off?

Yes. It is an option of the plugin, on by default. Without it, your shop still syncs orders and customers with Mailchimp from the server.

What happens after the 30-day trial?

The banner, your visitors’ choices and your proofs of consent keep working. Without a key, most settings lock, updates and support stop. Take a key at any time and everything opens again.
