Cookie consent for TikTok for Business
the server talks to tiktok
TikTok for Business adds the TikTok pixel to your pages. Cookie Rocks holds that pixel until consent. Once a TikTok account is connected, the plugin also sends page views from your server, and no banner can hold those.

What matters for consent with TikTok for Business
The pixel waits
Cookie Rocks holds the TikTok Pixel until consent. After a yes, it loads and sets its cookie.
Events from your server
With a TikTok account connected, every page sends a page view to TikTok from your server, with the visitor’s IP address and browser, plus shop events. There is no consent check and no setting to hold it.
A click ID cookie
When a visitor arrives from a TikTok ad, the server saves the click ID in a cookie with the page. A banner in the browser cannot hold it.
No consent calls
The plugin has no consent setting and no WP Consent API support. Its small pixel stub does not include TikTok’s consent calls.
The two libraries it loads
The plugin’s script loads two libraries from other sites. Since Cookie Rocks 2.11.2, they wait for consent with the pixel.
Cookie Rocks with TikTok for Business
- Holds the scripts it adds to your pages, such as tags, pixels or a chat, until the visitor consents. In advanced Consent Mode, Google’s tags load with consent denied instead.

Sent from your server · TikTok for BusinessTikTok for Business sends page views from the server without checking consent
Once an account is connected, page views and WooCommerce events go to TikTok with the visitor's IP address. A ttclid in the address is kept in a 30-day tiktok_ttclid cookie set by the server.

When a TikTok account is connected, TikTok for Business sends a PageView to TikTok's Events API (business-api.tiktok.com) from the server on every page rendered by PHP, plus WooCommerce events, with the visitor's IP address, user agent, _ttp and ttclid, without checking consent. On init it saves ?ttclid= in a tiktok_ttclid cookie for 30 days, from the server. It has no consent setting and no WP Consent API support.
Good to know · TikTok for BusinessTikTok for Business code lacks TikTok's consent commands
Its early ttq code does not declare holdConsent, grantConsent or revokeConsent, so those calls fail before TikTok's script has loaded.
Read in its code, 16 October 2026, TikTok for Business 1.4.2.
Full detail
The ttq stub printed by TikTok for Business declares page, track, identify, enableCookie, disableCookie and other methods, but not holdConsent, grantConsent or revokeConsent, so those calls fail before events.js has loaded. The plugin also enqueues ajaxSnippet.js (handle tt4b_ajax_script) for add-to-cart events, which assumes ttq exists.
How we test it
Around each version, with its latest release
Around each Cookie Rocks version, a fresh WordPress installs its latest version from WordPress.org next to Cookie Rocks and runs the same checks. A new version joins the next run on its own.
- TikTok 1.4.3, tested on 7 November 2026.
- The banner shows, the trackers of the test page wait for consent and load after it, and Cookie Rocks raises no PHP error.
- Its own tags, set with a test ID, do not load before the choice and load after “Accept all”.
- Settings of the test: TikTok Pixel code (test value), no TikTok account connected.
- Last run: TikTok 1.4.3 on 7 November 2026, with WordPress 7.1.3.

Questions
What should I do about the server events?
They start when a TikTok account is connected. If you need TikTok to wait for the visitor’s choice, the server part is outside any banner’s reach.
What happens after the 30-day trial?
The banner, your visitors’ choices and your proofs of consent keep working. Without a key, most settings lock, updates and support stop. Take a key at any time and everything opens again.
